Ainsley's Big Weekend!

by tara 31. May 2009 07:22

We packed up the crib for storage for the very last time.  We've had that crib for 6+ years, handed down from Keeley to Kaelin to Aidan to Ainsley.  It's emotional putting it to rest in the dark attic!  We always had to "kick" one baby out and put them in a big kid bed earlier than usual so we could put another baby it (and avoid having two cribs!)...but this time was a bit slower with no bambino behind her.  So...Ainsley is in a very big girl bed now (looking like a tiny pea in a pod). She got to pick the comforter set and decor for her room.  Luckily she has good taste and what she picked matches her walls (well actually we narrowed it down to a few picks for her to be sure it did...).  She did awesome last night, slept through the whole night with no problem and just came strolling into our room this morning with a "Where's Daddy?".  She so proud of herself "I'm bigger now!" she exclaims.

Now that we are settled back from vacation and have a couple days of peace before recitals, etc. and a couple weeks before summer camp(s) gears up, we decided it was a good time to also begin potty training Ainsley.  We almost can't believe that our house will soon be free from diapers.  And, we're looking forward to the extra $$'s in savings every week too!  So, Ainsley's been wearing little girl undies and doing really well so far (the last 36 hours anyway!).  We'll see how it goes when Mommy heads to LA this week and is not asking her every 30 minutes if she "has to go"...

We're so very proud of you Ainsley Marin!!

Just a quick early May note

by tara 6. May 2009 18:18
Just a short note as things are crazy as ever here!  I'm going to be lazy and point you to folders #87-90 / 2009 in our recent photos for a photo journal of what we've been up to...Kaelin's b-day party at school (really cool celebration! read the captions on the pics), Keeley and Kaelin's soccer games (Jeff's coach, they are both really great!), Tara's b-day (the kids spent a week making presents leading up to it), Keeley lost her second tooth (actually Jeff pulled it out with floss because it was just as stubborn as her first when we had to have the dentist pull it!), Cousin Ryan's first communion party in Connecticut (squeezed that in during the less than 30 hours Tara had at home last weekend between getting back from LA in the wee hours of Saturday a.m. and needing to take off again Sunday...), awesome 95 degree weather in Boston two weekends ago (letting us all get a little glow from being pasty white all winter! and giving us our first chance at some much needed yard work). Not so good - first confirmed case of swine flu in our region of Massuchusetts reported today (at the elementary school in our town!).  That's all I've got for now!  More later, much later!
