I've added a few new photo folders (79, 80, 81, 82, 83). I've been behind a bit in posting the last month! A couple small updates to our "goings-on" below too!

School Year Ending Activities

by tara 19. June 2009 19:21

The girls final soccer games of the season were held this past weekend.  An awards ceremony was held after each division's games and each of the kids got a medal.  The coaches of each team got to hand out the awards so it was extra special for Keeley and Kaelin to have Jeff do the honors.  Their medals now hang in their bedroom next to many others collected so far in their short lives!  Our charmer Aidan Kane turned 4 on Saturday.  Cousins Conor and Ryan and Auntie Erin came over for cake and ice-cream and Aidan enjoyed opening all of his presents, taking a special liking to his new tennis racket.  The next day Jeff took Aidan, Kaelin, and Ainsley to the tennis courts and Aidan established himself as quite a natural player. We see lessons in his future (but, oh lord, one more activity to calendar...).  Kaelin was super too and Ainsley, well...she was the cutest little ball girl the game of tennis has ever seen :-).  We celebrated Aidan's birthday at his school last week with the celebration of Earth going around the Sun and the Earth orbiting the Sun 4 times since his birth. He got to share a photo collage of his life with his classmates and also presented them with a gift. All very cute!

I volunteered at the Kindergarten Field Day events earlier in the week and was assigned to the potato sack races (the coolest race of the games per the kids).  It was so fun (really!) and I loved being able to spend some time with Keeley and her friends. She was in her element with the competition.  After the games we served the kids pizza and popcicles.  At the end of the day I asked Keeley what the best part of the day was and she said "having you there". Aw...made my week!  Work has been so busy I've had no other opportunity but this last one of the year to help out in Kindergarten, so it was extra special for me to.  The school year went by so quickly and my shy little girl, seemed shy no more with her gang of friends that day, talking and joking up a storm.  The Montessori School also had a year end celebration that was a blast for Kaelin and Aidan, complete with HUGE fruit Edible Arrangements which Aidan stuck by for at least 30 minutes. I swear he must have had close to 30 strawberries. I was promising him an aching belly later that night from all the berries, but luckily it never came...It was a sad year end good-bye for Kaelin to some of her friends who she won't be seeing for a couple of months.

We are now preparing for Keeley and Kaelin's ballet recital this weekend, dress rehearsal tonight went terrific! Ainsley seems to want to get involved in all of these recitals and pretends to put on her own "shows" every night, insisting that the show can't start until everyone is quiet ("be quiet!, the show is going to start!" is what she screams before beginning her nightly 20 minute dance and singing routine where we must all remain a captivated audience or else...).  We have no doubt that she has the performing arts in her future!
