Sorry!! It's been almost two months since we posted, but we have a really
good excuse...We recently moved to Massachusetts at the end of April (please email
one of us for our new address and phone number). The past two months have been crazy,
lots of back and forth between LA and Boston, but we are finally getting settled
in our new home. The kids are loving the house and all the room, especially
their playroom and pool (they're all water bugs!). We are in a wonderful
subdivision with lots of young families and lots of kids around Keeley, Kaelin and
Aidan's age. The kids are uncharacteristically shy around all the "new" people
and unfamiliar places, but we're sure it will break soon. In April, we had
to celebrate Easter apart, Jeff and Tara on the road moving and the kids with the
O'Shea clan. Jeff started his new job at the beginning of the month and Tara
is still working at Cedars-Sinai in LA (commuting back and forth). We have
pictures to post, but wanted to get this updated first. Check back soon.
Aidan is 11 months old. He started walking about a month ago!
It's so cute seeing him toddle around and now he's picking up speed with his walking
and sometimes gets ahead of himself by running. We finally him a regular boys
haircut, so people are no longer confusing him for a girl despite the blue and sports
attire we always have on him! He has two top and two bottom teeth, and we think
two more on the bottom will be popping through soon, he's been a bit fussy the past
two weeks. He has a strong opinion about a lot of things, especially when
his sisters attempt to take something from him. Aidan loves playing "monster"
and being chased by us or his sisters. It's getting more and more difficult
to keep up with him. Turn around for one second and he's where he knows he
should not be. Aidan has a sweet tooth, we swear he can smell chocolate across
the room. His favorite indulgence right now are cheese balls...Despite the
"treats", he is still a great eater and is beginning to switch to whole milk and
more and more solid food. His word of the week is "truck", although is really
sounds like "guck." He says "guck" and "woo, woo" when he sees his fire truck
book. He gets really excited seeing birds outside and when the wind blows
and he sees the trees sway, he starts to blow. Aidan is often referred to
as "My little crunchy bunchy" (that's what Keeley calls him) and "My big boy" (that's
what Kaelin calls him in addition to her pet name for him "Brully")
Kaelin celebrated her 2nd birthday last month. We had a party for her
at her school in CA and then she had a party in MA. She has just blossomed
so much the past couple of months. Everything she does, says, every little
gesture makes us smile. Although she has an incredible stubborn streak.
And, when she does something wrong and we ask her "Who did it", she sometimes responds
with "Not me, the girl did it" (funny how a two year old can fib!). She's
so adventurous, sometimes it worries us...She'll try and do anything. Kaelin
is also become quite the nurturer. She has followed Keeley in really loving
to take care of her baby doll. She's very particular about her Darlene, bottle-feeding,
changing, putting to bed, etc. She often quiets everyone down in the house
walking around telling us "Shhhh, Darlene's sleeping." Kaelin is extremely
good at playing ball, both catching and throwing. Favorite sayings this month
include "Oh my GOSH!" and "I have Idea!"
Keeley is almost 3 and a half now but it seems like she's going on 5 or
6. She's such a little lady. She's been very active lately jumping, climbing,
doing all kinds of tricks. 100 times a day she yells from a very awkward position
or on top of a piece of furniture "Look what I can do!" (and then of course,
Kaelin follows with a "Me too!"). Needless to say, we are signing Keeley up
for gymnastics next month. She also has been asking to take dance, but we know it's
way to early to start juggling two hobbies at only three years old! She loves
to listen to music and put on her dress up clothes to dance. Up until two
weeks ago she hadn't seen Dora the Explorer and then we were invited to go to cousin
Charlotte's 3rd birthday party with invited guest Dora. Keeley began watching
the show and now it's her favorite. Just this week we caught her teaching
Aidan to sing the jingle "backpack, backpack" and he actually responded with a "bapbap".
Keeley is wonderful with Aidan, she really knows his needs and helps out a lot.
She often tells us she misses her school in CA, and especially her best friend Arthur.
She draws pictures of the two of them all them time and always wants to mail him
letters.
